Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. At the age of five and moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled at her first Dragon School. Emma always had the desire to become an actor from the age of at the age of six. She was enrolled at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford which is an acting academy which offers classes for part-time students. When she was 10, she had already taken part in a variety of Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was discovered as a casting agent through her Oxford drama teacher. After eight consistent auditions director David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected to play the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first cinematic appearance was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. It was also the most successful film during 2001. Opening days and weekends of ticket sales were record-breaking. Critics gave high praise to the film, and especially those who were young. The Daily Telegraph in Britain, which is widely distributed the newspaper, described her performance as outstanding. Emma later won five awards in recognition of her work in the film.
